My buddy Jim Yaghi wrote a cool email today called 'The $100,000 article myth. It's about some dude who told people that every time he wrote an article he made gabillions.

I got myself involved with internet marketing in Oct 09. The good ole days where you could throw any old website up on Google and drive crazy amounts of traffic to it.

That's where 99% of traffic came from!

Sure, you could do the odd sale with Facebook and YouTube but nothing like Google's search marketing platform.

From the outside, listening to the gooroo's and their clones, it would seem easy to get traffic from sources such as Facebook, Twitter, Articles and blog posts but of course...

They would tell you anything to get you to sign up!

Then when you're in the trenches and wonder why you're not getting endless leads it's because you're not doing it right! lolz

So you buy some shitty info products on 'how to' not realising the only money the producer of this rehashed garbage has ever made, was from some sales of the frauduct.

And it's still rife even more so today. 

So here's my point...

If all these gooroo's are generating crazy amounts of leads & sales with free marketing methods

Then why, when Google terminated them, did all the top dawgs (and this goes for me aswell) lose pretty much everything overnight?

Yes $100,000/months just vanished. Gooroo's were moving back into their moms spares rooms all over the globe.

The whole internet marketing industry fell apart!

But hey, if they make $10,000 for EVERY article they published. Why not write an article every 3 days? All of a sudden the $100,000 months are suddenly back on

I've lost thousands of hours sleep trying to think of a possible explanation for these strange happenings.

Maybe they told us a porkie?

Surely they wouldn't do such a thing...

Anyway...

I've ranted about this before but I fancied it again today.

Couple things happened on Facebook the past while and today I saw an ad from some MLM'er that tipped me over the edge.

I'm sooo turned off to the whole network marketing idea and if I hear the words...

'I just want to help you'

...one more time, I think I will break down in tears! haha

Don't you find it all so fuckin false and fake?

I just wanna tear their arms off and beat them round their head, with their own fuckin arms!

It doesn't matter how you dress it up. Anybody worth their salt can surely see through it a mile away.

Fuck off!

No you're not! You wan't to make money.

And if you genuinely started an MLM business to help people, you're even dumber than I thought!

You shoulda joined a charity and done some useful shyt!

Business's are started to turn a profit.

MAIN GOAL!

So why the fuck do all these MLM'ers so desperately hide the fact by dressing it up as 'wanting to help people'?

Here's why...

They have zero to offer the market place!

Yea, they might offer some stupid, rehashed e-book or video training series teaching something to others they can't even do themselves, copied from someone else who can't fuckin do it either.

Hey, they might even have a live webinar where they teach you shyt (if you have any clue what so ever you will soon realise it's a lame ass attempt to recruit you!

Hey some pimp was trying to teach me how to do ppc marketing yesterday with the worst attempt at a ppc ad I ever fuckin saw, sending me to the worst fuckin marketing system I ever saw offering the worst fuckin training I ever did saw!

Fuckin Idiots!

If you have zero to offer other than a slip of paper for me to sign on, which places me in your shitty down-line and sends some money into your pocket then pleeze just fuck off and die!

You don't own a business so stop pretending you do.

Show me another bizniz shouting from hill tops about wanting to help me?

The whole point of their bizniz is to help me, that's how they make money, right?

So figure out a way to help people with an actual product or service and the money will come.

Hello,

Clicked me a Facebook ad earlier. Only cos it was about YouTube ppc. I don't normally do such a thing. 

It was the usual nonsense from some spammy marketing system.

'Un-tapped fortune of leads and money hiding away somewhere waiting for you to come and get it all for free'

Oh, if you just buy this first.....

Look, I have this buddy who goes fishing. One day he decides to venture further up the river than normal. Aint no fishin man been up that far before. He can't believe his eyes when he see's some waters just off the river, kinda like a pond. 

All the fish are in there having a freekin party. Some of them are in the hot tub sipping on pina coldas, some are having a little swim, others sun bathing and 2 big strong salmon are playing 'finball'..... see what I did there ;)

Anyway...

My buddy casts his net and starts pulling in tons of amazing fish. Day after day he returns and catches more. He knows if the other fisherman know of his find, they will all come along and ruin it for him. So he keeps it to himself....

You hear that?

He keeps it to himself!!!

Just like any normal bizniz would do, they don't share secrets with their competitors.

But these MLM types, they make their money by telling everyone about how awesome something is. The money isn't in the doing, it's in the telling others about the doing! The better the picture they paint, the more money they can make.

SCAM!

So, I'm gonna keep this short and sweet, pretty much because it's after midnight, and I'm, well......

I'm F****D :-/

You might not agree, (if you don't you're a dumbass) but I have a couple pointers for you if you're making your way along, bizniz'n it up!

Firstly, ppc rocks! Instant, regular, hot, targeted and any other term you wanna throw in there.

BUT!

Learning ppc from an MLM'er is stoopid!

• They know shyt about running a legitimate business. 

• They know shyt about keeping their website legal. 

• They know shyt about adhering to ppc platforms T's & C's

• They're constantly on the run, looking for new avenues of lead flow to exhaust because the one prior has kicked them off!

• Then when you apply their tactics for yourself and it doesn't work, it's because you're dumb and didn't do it right or something...

lolz!

Meanwhile, the REAL business owner, you know the kind, they own their own bizniz with products and/or services and stuff, are still raking in leads from Adcenter & Adwords.

Because they realise it's dumb to try and master everything. They stick to the bit they're good at, like running their business and they out source the bits they can't to experts.

Like traffic!

Everyone is freaking about the economy.

And who can blame them?

Everywhere you look it's nothing but doom & gloom, tent cities, lost jobs, foreclosures and soon, maybe even blood in the streets (don't laugh pimp - historically violence and mayhem thrive during times like these).

So what does everyone do?

They look for a super politician in his cape and tight pants to swoop down and save the economy from the monster.

Sorry, but that won't happen.

I don't care how pro-business they are...

Politicians won't save the economy because they CAN'T.  They don't actually produce anything.  All they do is redistribute and regulate (i.e. strangulate). Which is why if you're an entrepreneur then YOU are actually doing far more for the economy than any politician ever can.

This is why we need more entrepreneurs right now.

Not politicians.

And if you want to be an entrepreneur, what are you waiting for?

The world NEEDS you.

We're the last line of defense against poverty and starvation, and when the chips are down, it's the entrepreneurs who take care of things.

Let me tell you a story...

A close friend of mine contacted me and asked if I'd heard of Zeek. Said she had been through it with a fine tooth comb and everything looked legit. Now this is someone with a great business brain and sports some awesome achievements and they had her fooled.

7 days later, they kicked out all their employees, changed the locks on the doors and hoped for the best!

So off all the little Zeek clones go to find something else. Some massively out of pocket. Although I hear they may see their pennies back.

Shouldn't be too hard to find something else to shout about as minutes after the news came out, vultures from other companies were rubbing their hands and putting up facebook ads targetted at ex Zeek Rewards members, offering them new homes.

Incesteous tramps!

And now, all over again, I will get bombarded from the same people about how they just joined the best biz pop they ever did saw

LOLZ!

The fear of their whole, empire, business, pile of shyt coming crashing down, will never be far away homestring

But, no, it wasn't the innuendo which got readers in a tizzy.

It was the response to their questions for me!

I got a ton of emails saying...

Teach Me.

Now, I understand the response was to be expected, since we reside in an industry where people try to teach other people anything and everything, usually what they can't even do themselves.

• The money coach with no money

• The leads guy with no leads

• The life coach with no life

So will I teach you?

No business owner gives away his secrets! When you see all the home biz gooroo's giving their best stuff away free, it's because it doesn't work :p

Here's why I wont teach it

Firstly, Yaghi would probably get all ninja on my ass (no homo tho)

Secondly, you should know by now, we have transitioned into a SERVICE business.

girl blowing my vuvuzela for a cheap cpc

Hey playaahhh,

I remember back when I played football. One season we lost around 8 games 2-1. We lost a goal in the first couple minutes, absolutely dominated the rest of the game, scored to make it 1-1 then lost another goal in the last couple minutes.

Shot after shot at the opponents goal with only 1 conversion to show for our efforts, while the other team, often only had 2 shots on target the whole game but left with their stats showing 2 attempts, 2 conversions.

Fucked me right off. 

Had to go out and get blind drunk to get over my disappointment. Same as we had to go out and get blind drunk when we won, just to celebrate :p

We would usually go and get blind drunk if we drew also, just to get rid of the frustrations :D

Anyway... 

Reason I tell you this is because, other day, I see's some girl posting a picture of her Facebook ppc account showing her getting 17cent clicks.

She was cheering and waving her pom poms!

While a cheap cpc is awesome, they are merely the ppc equivalent of footballs, shots at goal.

Now, in theory, the more shots on target, the more chance you have of scoring an actual goal.

Just like the more people who click to your website, the more leads you should get.

But getting people to your website idn't the main goal is it? Cheering for a low cpc is the same as blowing your vuvuzela for shots at goal. 

Exciting but don't mean anything!

Conversions are the main goal aren't they pimpstring?

Was at the pool the other day, blasted out 2k, about 80 lengths. (not wearing the above though :p)

There were 2 women pottering about when I got in, chatting and the like, trying hard to keep their hair dry. I think they even swam a couple lengths too :p

They were still there when I got out!

As I stopped at the end, gasping for breath, one of the women looked up at the clock and asked her friend...

How long have we been in now?

So I'd swam all that time when all that matters is how long I'd been in the pool?

God dam it!

They may as well stayed at home and cracked open a tub of haagen dazs cookie dough and set about it with 2 spoons.

Haha, ok, I'm just kiddin ya, they were there for the social aspect and probably to get away from a house full of screaming kids.

Good on them for getting inside the costume and into the water rather than cocktails and a pizza!

But when it comes to your business, of course it's not how long you have been in business that counts, but...

What you do when you're in!

Serious entrepreneurs get done in 1 year, what most get done in 10. I've lost count of how many times I've heard...

'but I've been doing this for a whole year now and it just doesn't work'

silly mlm'er and my psycho mother

Hey,

Saw a silly mlm'er bleating on Facebook earlier about how his new mlm company is awesome and everyone should...

'jump on or watch it go by'.

Took me waaaaay back to a moment in 1995. I stayed in Northern Ireland at the time. Was one of those moments which stay with you forever.

My mother and I were going into the nearest town to do some shopping and had walked around the mile or so from our house to the bus stop. We got there in plenty time and waited in line with all the other people. 

Just an ordinary trip to the shops...

But things were about to get...

Well....

Lets say, interesting.

As the bus pulled up, all of a sudden my mother went crazy, and I mean...

Fuckin crazy!

She started screaming, threw her handbag down on the ground and preceded to jump up and down on top of it, with both feet!

There were all kinds of words coming from her mouth. I didn't know what the hell was going on. 

EVERYONE was watching!

I was like, 'mum'...

aaarrrggghhhh

'MUM'...

aaarrrrggggghhhhhhhhhh

'MUM, What's Wrong'?

'I've left my F*&^%$£ bus pass at home'

When I informed her it was in fact, in her hand, she stopped jumping and shouting and waited for the ground to open up and swallow her.

If I'm honest, I probably would've jumped straight in after her!

I mean, I was 14, I was at that stage in life where I had serious street cred.

Anyway, we got on the bus, had a proper laugh (and for the following months) and I said, if we hadn't jumped on that particular bus, we would've jumped on the next one.

mlm companies are no different than buses.

They come and go and all the sheeps 'jump on' thinking if they only get that ground floor spot, they will be set.

Doesn't work like that sweetcheeks.

Even if you do see some early success, it's usually down to enthusiasm, and it soon wears off. Just as quick as you go up, you come hammering back down (like my psycho mother on her handbag)

Often is the case, you find a sweet spot and generate a ton of leads, make some money and all of a sudden there is a change in some FTC laws and you are kicked off.

Bang goes your lead flow and bang goes your income.
